About ME

Meet Aimee Cooper

Raised in Akron, Ohio, Aimee Cooper attended Kenmore High School and The University of Akron, participating in the STEP and Upward Bound programs for underprivileged scholars.

As an only child, she was forced to find outlets to entertain herself. Aimee has always been hyper-creative and playing in multiple sandboxes at the same time.  When she’s not writing, she enjoys drawing, painting, photography, entomology and is a self-proclaimed yarnologist.

While her current offerings fall into the genre of Young Adult, Aimee captivates readers of all ages with characters they can relate to. She creates unlikely heroes in her stories that conquer fear and overcome incredible odds. Aimee’s driving force is to share stories that inspire and empower her audience through life’s most difficult challenges. Her creative storytelling has culminated into a collection of spooky tales of terrifying adventure in her Maime’s Tales series.

Creative writing isn’t just a job, it’s the necessary biproduct of a creative mind and over-active imagination.

Aimee has spent over two decades in various accounting roles for accounting firms, financial advisors, and currently at an architectural firm. After working in the analytical world of finance, she loves flipping the switch and creating the fictitious worlds in her stories.

In addition to being her muses, her children (now well-adjusted adults) are a film maker, an Army Sergeant, and a software developer/up and coming attorney. She is married to a retired volleyball coach and former creative director. She enjoys golfing, playing with her house hippos—a Saint Bernard named Drax and the lovely Miss Mantis, the most passive, fluffiest Akita ever!

Follow Aimee on social media to get updates on personal appearances, the Maime’s Tales saga, the hippopotadoggos, big birds of prey, creepy and amazing insects, and perhaps even teasers from a terrifying screenplay or two. Be strange, but don’t be a stranger!
