This map was originally created in Microsoft Excel. …yes, the accounting nerd and Spreadsheet Queen in me used what I knew best to create a reference guide as I started the Maime’s Tales series. As time went on, I realized that this map would be helpful to my readers as well, but they would need something more refined. Principal Architect, Amador Gonzalez created this 3D map and while it could easily have been simplified as a 2D version for insertion into Journal One, I wanted to share the final product with you here…

Spotify such an important role in my life. I often write with a motion picture-type soundtrack in my head. I find so much inspiration in music and want to share the music that filled the background as I developed Maime’s Tales.

The Maime’s Tales series is made up of three collections:
These are the past and current journals of Maime Caldwell as she documents her path to discovering the truth behind how she lost her voice and what it means to be the key to fulfilling a centuries old Grigorian Prophecy with the help of her best friend, Lucas, and her grandfather, Walt.
Follow Maime as she sails the Mediterranean Coast on the hunt for ancient artifacts she hopes will help her defeat the evil that awaits her in her hometown of Whitney.
Things heat up as Maime and Lucas navigate the ups and downs of high school. The stakes have never been higher as they battle their way through the last of the Grigori, hoping to live long enough to see graduation day.
Overall, the entire collection will be nine books containing thirty-two thrilling stories.
Well, that’s where you, the reader, come into play. My publisher reserves the right to publish Maime’s Tales – Journal One as an audiobook. As a debut author, the fans and book sales will certainly help convince Pegasus Publishers that an audiobook will be well received and worthwhile. I am excited to announce that Maime’s Tales – Journal Two is currently in development. If all goes to plan, we hope to release Journal Two in the fall of 2027.
Stephen King, Anne Rice, Agatha Christie, R.L. Stine, Franklin Dixon – these are the authors I grew up on and love. Lately though, I’ve been reading the suspenseful and interactive books of Patrick Carman, and my daughter (an avid and voracious reader) has turned me onto Taylor Jenkins Reid, Delia Owens, and Matt Haig.
Wow – that’s a tough one. My taste in music is rather eclectic and kind of all over the place. Variety is the spice of life, after all. If I had to choose though, I’d say my favorite genres are 70’s folk, 90’s grunge, and unlikely fusions. My taste in music also includes blues, jazz, hip hop, rap, heavy and alt metal, rock, some country, ska-punk, pop – there really isn’t a style of music I don’t like.

Inspirations quite literally surround us everywhere and every day. For me, it can be a song, a scene I drive past on my commute to work, personal experiences, but most often they come from my weird and twisted dreams. The key is to pay attention to the world around you and find the story it’s trying to tell you.

Identify your genre, target audience, and do your homework to find the right publishers and/or agents accepting unsolicited works of your nature. Don’t give up! Send as many queries as you possibly can. Take any feedback you get, keep refining your work, and then send more queries. But most importantly, don’t be disheartened by rejections and non-responses. Trust me, I got my fair share of both, and I’ve made it my personal goal to make them wish they hadn’t passed on me and my amazing stories!
